Abdulrahman Mustafa, the CEO and Chairman of Al Duhail Group, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Qatar Football Association (QFA). The appointment was announced by the QFA on Wednesday.
Mustafa, who is also the managing director of the Doha-based investment company, has been serving as the chairman of Al Duhail Group since June 2019. He previously served as the president of the Qatar National Team from 2011 to 2014.
In his role as chairman of the QFA, Mustafa will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, including its strategic direction, financial management, and governance structure. He will also play a key role in promoting football in Qatar and supporting its development at both the national and club level.

Mustafa's appointment comes after a period of significant change within the QFA. In January, the association announced the departure of former chairman Jassim Bin Hamad al-Thani, who had led the organization since 2005. His replacement, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim, took office in May 2018 but was forced to resign earlier this year following allegations of corruption and embezzlement.
Mustafa's appointment as chairman of the QFA marks a return to the position held by al-Thani before his resignation. The move follows a period of instability within the organization, which has seen several high-profile figures depart and a number of changes in leadership.
